BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Baseball team continues its homestand this weekend and hosts Minnesota State University, Mankato for a three-game, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference series at BSU Baseball Field this weekend.

The Beavers host the Mavericks (20-11, 16-5 NSIC) for three games over two days beginning with a doubleheader Saturday, April 13 at 1:30 p.m., and ending Sunday with a single, nine-inning game at Noon.

Bemidji State is looking to rebound from a competitive doubleheader at BSU Baseball Field on Wednesday falling in two games to University of Minnesota Duluth.

The Mavericks have won their last five games and are coming off a sweep of Winona State University Wednesday in Mankato.

The Beavers were led by senior
Jack Munson who went 4-for-8 in the series against the Bulldogs. Two of his hits were home runs, his first two of the season, and drove in four of the Beavers' eight runs in the series. He slugged 1.375 in the series with two home runs and a double while recording 11 total bases.

Munson is leading the Beavers at the plate this season and in 109 at bats, he is batting .275 with a slugging percentage of .404 and on-base percentage of .307. He leads the team with 30 hits including a team-high eight doubles while also hitting two home runs and paces BSU with 13 RBI.

He is followed by junior
Zach Evenson who is batting .270 and leads the team with a .825 OPS after compiling a team-high .438 slugging percentage and .387 on-base percentage. He has collected 24 hits in 89 at bats including a team-high four home rusn, three doubles and driven in 11 runs.

Freshman
Matt Filippi is batting .250 with 25 hits, three doubles, a team-high two triples and three home runs while stealing a team-high eight bases in nine attempts.

Junior
Derek Hoffman leads the Beaver pitching staff with 28.1 innings pitched and is 0-6 with a 13.66 ERA in seven starts and has one complete game. His 23 strikeouts lead the Beavers and is coming off the best start of his career pitching in a career-high six innings and allowed just three runs off six hits and struck out three.

Jacob Smith follows with 27.2 innings pitched and leads the Beavers starters with a 10.08 ERA over six starts.
