BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Softball team travels west and will face University of Minnesota Crookston Wednesday, April 17 for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader in Crookston, Minn. The Beavers and Golden Eagles begin their doubleheader at 2 p.m., Wednesday after rain pushed back their original scheduled series Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles (11-31, 4-14 NSIC) enter the series with a 11-31 record and have lost their last two games after being swept by Augustana University, Sunday. The Beavers (10-31, 4-14 NSIC) are tied with UMC in the NSIC standings with each team holding 12
th with a 4-14 league record. The top 10 teams in the league standings qualify for the NSIC Softball Tournament. Both teams are just 3.5 games behind 10
th place University of Sioux Falls (16-25, 7-13 NSIC).

The Beavers are looking to improve after last weekend going 1-3 against Augustana and Wayne State College.

Junior
Alexa Christenson leads the way batting .333 with 46 hits in 138 at bats and is followed by senior
Molly Houts hitting .314. Christenson paces the team with 13 multi-hit games and has three doubles for 49 total bases while Houts leads the Beavers with a .443 on-base percentage after drawing a team-high 18 walks.

Freshman
Jackie Larsen paces the Beavers on the base paths and is tied for 10
th with 11 stolen bases on 12 attempts.

In the circle, senior
Stella Dolan leads the Beavers with 158.1 innings pitched, the most in the NSIC and third in Division II. Her 158.1 innings are tied for fifth most in a single season at Bemidji State. She has posted a 7-14 record in the circle with a 4.07 ERA, 15 complete games, one shutout and has struck out 99 while allowing just 32 walks.

She is followed by sophomore
Elle Hastings who has pitched 61.1 innings and is 1-8 with an 8.33 ERA and 21 strikeouts.
