BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Baseball team hits the road for the last time this season and travels to St. Cloud, Minn., to take on St. Cloud State University for a three-game, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference series at Joe Faber Field.

The Beavers and Huskies (29-17, 25-11 NSIC) begin their seirs Friday, May 3 with a doubleheader beginning at 9:30 a.m. The teams then play the series finale Saturday at 3 p.m.

BSU is coming off its most successful series since 2021 after sweeping Minot State University in both games of its doubleheader Wednesday in its home finale at BSU Baseball Field. Junior
Zach Evenson helped lead the Beavers to two victories going 5-for-7 at the plate with two doubles, one home run and four RBI and also pitched a complete game on the mound to secure his first victory as a Beaver in game one.

The Beavers totaled 24 hits in their clash with Minot State including a season-high 15 hits in game one and a season-high 13 runs in game two.

Senior
Jack Munson leads the Beavers at the plate and is batting .308 on the season with 49 hits in 159 at bats. He has recorded 10 doubles, eight home runs and is second on the team with 24 RBI. He is followed by junior
Hunter Daymond who is batting .284 in 116 at bats and is the toughest to strikeout in the conference boasting just seven strikeouts in 116 at bats.

Freshman
Matt Filippi is batting .275 with 42 hits in 153 at bats and has started all 47 games for the Beavers and has played seven of the 10 positions (Pitcher, Second Base, Third Base, Left Field, Center Field, Right Field and Designated Hitter). He has batted lead-off in 44 of the teams 47 games.

He is followed by senior
Ty Karger who is batting .265 but leads the team with a .931 OPS boasting a .559 slugging percentage and .372 on-base percentage. He has hit six doubles and eight home runs and paces the team with 27 RBI. Evenson has added seven home runs this season and is the first time since 2016 that three Beavers have seven or more home runs in a season.

The Beavers have eight pitchers who have pitched 20 or more innings this season and are led by junior
Derek Hoffman with 31.1 innings. However, he has been sidelined due to injury and junior
Brandon Lind follows with 28.2 innings pitched and is 1-4 with an 8.16 ERA and 34 strikeouts. His 10.67 strikeouts per nine innings is the third highest at BSU since 2017. Evenson paces the Beavers with a 7.77 ERA and is 1-2 in eight appearances.
