BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Basketball Head Coach
Chelsea Stoltenberg has announced the addition of two-time Iowa State Champion, Abbie Capesius, to its 2024-2025 roster.
Capesius, a five-foot-eight-inch guard, brings two Iowa State Champion titles with her as she begins her collegiate career with the Beavers. A four-year letterwinner for the Bishop Garrigan girls basketball program, Capesius helped her team to the state title in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, the Golden Bears marked their fifth-straight Top of Iowa Conference Champions title during her senior season.
Capesius is a 17-time letterwinner at Bishop Garrigan High School, four times each in basketball, cross country and track plus five times in softball. She was also a force in the classroom, earning a spot on the honor roll in each semester of her high school career and holding membership with the Bishop Garrigan Honor Society.
Personal: Born on January 9, 2006… daughter of Joe and Brenda Capesius, both are elementary school teachers… Mother, Brenda, competed in basketball and softball at Iowa Central Community College from 1989 to 1991… Plans to major in Aquatic or Wildlife Biology at Bemidji State… Enjoys fishing and hunting in her free time…
