BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Softball Head Coach
Jordan Petersen has announced the hiring of former BSU pitcher
Stella Dolan as an assistant coach. Stella played for the Beaver Softball program from 2021 until 2024.

Petersen said, "Coach Dolan is a great add for our coaching staff. She stood out in the interview process as being driven to develop athletes and motivated to have an impact within our vision for Beaver Softball." She continued, "She has been a part of this program and has the passion to continue building on what she started for this program. I believe her knowledge of NSIC level of play will also allow a seamless transition as we continue building the Beaver Softball program."

"I am blessed to have the opportunity to give back to the program that gave me an incredible college softball experience, not only on the field but within the Bemidji community, the university, and the countless other additives that came with," said Dolan. "We have a highly talented freshman class coming in, so I'm excited to work with our pitching staff and create more depth to give us success in the NSIC."

Dolan, a native of St. Paul, Minn., was a four-year pitcher for the Beavers from 2021 until 2024. During her time as a player, Dolan set program records for most appearances, most games finished and most saves. She ranks second all-time in career innings pitched (547.0) and most batters faced (2,555). Dolan finished in third for most wins, starts, most complete games, most strikeouts (366) and most strikeouts looking (88). During the 2024 season, she ranked first in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference for innings pitched (199.2). Additionally, she was in the Top 10 in the NSIC for innings pitched in 2022 and 2023.Â

A 2024 graduate of Bemidji State, Dolan graduated with degrees in Sport Management and Marketing Communication. While on the Beaver coaching staff, she will be working on her master's degree in business administration. She has been coaching and giving lessons since 2017, including coaching the Midwest Speed this past summer.Â
