BEMIDJI, Minn. – Northern Michigan University earned a Central Collegiate Hockey Association series sweep over the Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team Saturday night after downing the Beavers 3-1 at Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn.

The Wildcats scored three-straight goals after a scoreless first period to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the second period where the Beavers could never recover. Junior
Reilly Funk scored a power-play goal midway through the third period to put the Beavers on the board and extend his point streak to five games.

Bemidji State finished the game 1-for-3 on the power play and have scored a power-play goal in five-straight games.

Senior goaltender
Mattias Sholl made 21 saves in the game but was bested by NMU's Ryan Ouellete who stopped 33-of-34 shots.

Bemidji State now falls to 8-12-4 and 5-8-3 in league play. The Beavers get back on the road next weekend and travel to Mendota Heights, Minn., for a conference matchup at University of St. Thomas.
