BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Softball travels to St. Cloud, Minn. Saturday and Sunday for the Kelly Laas Memorial Tournament. The Beavers will take on the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs, St. Cloud State University Huskies and University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs.
Last season, the Beavers defeated the Mustangs twice on Mar. 24, 2024. BSU took the first game 5-3 with
Alexa Christenson,
Molly Houts,
Aubrey Aukerman and
Morgan Benedict each grabbing RBIs and a crew of Beavers getting runs. Game two saw less scoring, 3-1 to be exact, with
Jackie Larsen totaling four hits.
The Beavers and Huskies split last years' series with BSU taking one game and SCSU taking game two. Game one saw five extra innings with the Beavers taking the 3-2 victory. Game one's win came from
Aimee Christenson singling to the short stop and
Josie Kappes making it home from third.
In 2024, Bemidji State was swept by Minnesota Duluth Apr. 2. In both games, the Bulldogs marked seven runs and shutout the Beavers in the first game. In game two, BSU was able to grab four runs to limit UMD's lead to three runs.
The Beavers start Saturday against the Mustangs at 3 p.m. followed by the Huskies at 5 p.m. On Sunday, the Beavers start with the Bulldogs at noon followed by the Huskies again at 4 p.m. All games are available on the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Network and via livestats.
