BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Volleyball Head Coach
Erika Bute has announced the signing of Addison Warnke and Kelsey Lobitz during National Signing Day.
"We're excited to welcome Kelsey Lobitz and Addie Warnke to the Beaver Volleyball family," said Coach Bute. "Kelsey is a talented six-rotation lefty right-side hitter whose versatility and court awareness will be a huge asset. Addie brings dynamic energy and strength to the middle, and we're looking forward to seeing her thrive in our competitive environment. With a young team already in place, we're bringing in a smaller class next year—but these two will add valuable depth, elevate the level of competition in our gym, and contribute to a positive team culture both on and off the court."
Warnke, a five-foot-eleven middle and right side from Sioux Falls, S.D., joins the Beavers as a four-year letter winner in volleyball and basketball at Jefferson High School. During parts of her junior and senior years, sitting out the start of this season, Warnke has totaled 91 kills and five service aces while on offense. On defense, she has been a power at the net for the Cavalier varsity volleyball squad, marking 50 blocks and 24 digs. Warnke is also a three-time state qualifier in volleyball and basketball.
Off the court, Warnke is a National Honor Society member, has been on the 4.0 GPA honor roll for three semesters and on the 3.5 GPA honor roll for four semesters. Her efforts in the classroom have earned her a Scholar Athlete Award and Freshman Academy Award. Warnke is involved in Best Buddies, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Women's Empowerment, cancer awareness efforts and Collision. She plans to major in nursing or exercise science at Bemidji State.
Kelsey Lobitz joins the Beavers as a six-foot right side from Albany, Minn. and is an All-Conference selection and Burnsville All-Tournament team selection. In her varsity career at Albany High School, under Head Coach Brian Hines, Lobitz has accumulated 100 aces and over 500 kills and digs. With the Huskies, she has competed at the state tournament level where AHS placed third and the team has won its conference championship for the past three years. She plans to major in accounting at BSU.
The Beavers close their season this weekend at home, hosting No. 6 Concordia University, St. Paul and Winona State University. Friday's matchup versus CSP is set for 6 p.m. while Saturday's is set for 4 p.m.
