Pattrin grabs NCAA DII Ranking at CSB/SJU Open Friday

Bemidji State competed in the CSB/SJU Open Friday, marking a multi-top five finish day

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Track and Field team competed in the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University Open Friday evening in Collegeville, Minn. 
 
To start off the field portion of the evening, Mikenna Pattrin grabbed a shotput throw of 13.10 meters, marking a personal best and breaking into the NCAA Division II College Indoor rankings at No. 48. She grabbed the top spot in the event, followed by Trista Bilden in second with a throw of 12.03 meters and Zayda Priebe at 11.45 meters, a season best for Priebe. Pattrin also took second in the weight throw with a mark of 15.92 meters. 
 
On the jumping side of the field events, Mille Rosaeg grabbed fourth in the high jump with a personal best mark of 1.50 meters (4-11.00). Abbie Disbrow grabbed fifth in the long jump at 4.92 meters. To top the field events off, Olivia Olson marked a second-place finish in the pole vault at 3.23 meters and Chloe Knott marked fifth at 2.78 meters. 
 
On the track, Mille Rosaeg and Abbie Disbrow finished third and sixth, respectively, in the 60-meter dash finals with times of 8.08 seconds and 8.31 seconds. Kylee Morton also finished top five in her 200-meter dash race with 27.86 seconds on the clock. Jayden Wodarz grabbed an indoor PR with her time in the same race at 29.66 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, Josie Aitken grabbed second with a time of 1:03.08 and Makenna Frazier finished fifth with a personal best of 1:05.79. Sophie Rylance continued the top-five finish trend in the women's 1000-meter race at 3:14.10 and Carol Miller marked her season best in the one mile at 5:28.07. Maggie McCarthy rounded out the top-five finishes, taking second in the 3000-meter race with a time of 10:52.05. 
 
The Beavers will now prepare for the North Dakota State University Bison Open on Feb. 7 and 8 in Fargo, N.D. They'll then head to Brookings, S.D. the following week and compete in one more meet following that before the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships at the end of February.
