BEMIDJI, Minn. – The 2024-25 regular season comes to an end this weekend for the Bemidji State University Women's Hockey team and it hosts No. 1 University of Wisconsin for the regular season finale at Sanford Center.

The Beavers (6-26-1, 4-22-0 WCHA) play their final home games of the season and honor their 2025 senior class during the weekend. Game one between the Beavers and Badgers (29-1-2, 23-1-2 WCHA) is slated for 3:02 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21 with game two to follow Saturday at 2:02 p.m.

Bemidji State Notes
- Bemidji State ends the 2024-25 regular season by hosting No. 1 Wisconsin for the second of their season series.
- The Beavers host their final home series of the season and honor their seven seniors in part of Senior Day following game two Saturday.
- The Beavers are set in the eighth seed for the first round of the WCHA Playoffs and will see the Badgers two consecutive weekends when they travel to Madison, Wis., as the Badgers have earned the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.
- Bemidji State is hoping to build momentum off an eight-goal weekend at University of St. Thomas this past weekend.
- The Beavers opened the series scoring five goals against the Tommies in a 5-0 shutout victory Friday night.
- However, the Tommies answered back Saturday downing the Beavers 4-3.
- The eight-goal weekend is tied for the second most in a weekend series for the Beavers this season.
- Sophomore Eva Filippova backstopped the Beavers earning her first shutout of the season, second of her career, stopping a total 39-of-40 shots over the weekend for a .975 save percentage and 0.66 goals against average. She earned the WCHA Goaltender of the Week award for her efforts for the first time this season and second of her career.
- Freshman Morgan Smith paced the Beavers' offense totaling four points over the series including netting her second hat trick of the season Saturday.
- She became just the second Beaver ever to score two hat tricks in a season and earned WCHA Rookie of the Week honors for the third time.
- The WCHA announced this week its selections for the WCHA All-Academic Team and WCHA Scholar-Athletes with 15 Beavers earning WCHA All-Academic Team honors and 13 recognized as WCHA Scholar-Athletes.
- The Beavers return home for their final home games where four of their six wins have come.
- The Beavers have scored 54 goals this season, the most since the team scored 55 during the 2021-22 season.
- 13 goals have been scored on the power play, the most by the Beavers since 2017-18 (19).
- The Beavers face the top-ranked Badgers for the first time since Oct. 24-25 when UW swept BSU by scores of 4-0 and 6-0 in Madison.
- The Badgers are on a 15-game winning streak against the Beavers and are 94-7-5 all-time against BSU.
- Bemidji State is just 2-39-3 when hosting the Badgers.
- The Beavers are led by its underclassmen with seven of their top-10 scorers either freshmen or sophomores.
- Freshman Morgan Smith paces the Beavers with 20 points (11g-9a) while sophomore Hailey Armstrong follows with 18 points (10g-8a) and redshirt freshman Isa Goettl has added 15 points (6g-9a).
- Smith is the first 20-point scorer for Bemidji State since Reece Hunt (7g-13a) in 2021-22.
- Smith and Armstrong each reached double-digits in goals this past weekend marking the first time since the 2019-20 season that BSU has had two double-digit goal scorers in a season (Haley Mack, Lydia Passolt).
- Morgan Smith is tied for second in the WCHA with seven power-play goals. It is tied for the second most power-play goals in a single season at Bemidji State trailing Sadie Lundquist's program record of eight set in the 2011-12 season.
- The Beavers are seventh in the WCHA with a power-play percentage of .163 (13-of-80).
- Bemidji State continues to be one of the top teams in the nation at blocking shots leading the WCHA and third in Division I with 539 blocked shots.
- Three of the league's top four shot blockers are Bemidji State Beavers including sophomore Riley Reeves who leads the league and is fifth in the nation with 80 blocked shots.
- Freshman Kaitlin Groess leads the Beavers with 1021:46 minutes played in goal. She is 3-15-0 with a 3.52 goals against average and .897 save percentage.
- She has split time with sophomore Eva Filippova who is 2-9-0 with a 3.25 goals against average and .897 save percentage.
- Senior Alyssa Watkins was voted by her peers to captain the team during the season and is the 40th team captain in the program's history. She is joined by senior Genevieve Hendrickson and junior Mya Headrick who will serve as alternate captains.
- The Beavers' roster consists of 17 Minnesotan's, 19 from the U.S., five from Canada, and three from Europe.
- 2024-25 is the 27th season in Bemidji State Women's Hockey history and the program is 281-568-81 (.346) in 928 games played.
