BEMIDJI, Minn. – The 2024-25 Central Collegiate Hockey Association regular season comes to an end this weekend and the Bemidji State University looks to improve CCHA Playoff seeding at No. 17/14 Minnesota State University, Mankato.

The Beavers (13-15-4, 10-11-3 CCHA) are looking to continue their hot streak against the Mavericks (22-8-2, 17-5-2 CCHA) and bring a four-game winning streak into Mayo Clinic HSEC. The Mavericks, who clinched the MacNaughton Cup as the league's top team during the regular season, host the Beavers for a two-game, league series beginning Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:07 p.m. The regular season finale will be Saturday with puck drop at 6:07 p.m.

- The Beavers end the 2024-25 regular season on the road at the No. 17/14 Mavericks.
- Bemidji State brings a four-game winning streak into Mankato and have taken 10 of the last 12 league points.
- The winning streak has bumped the Beavers up to sixth in the CCHA standings with home playoff hopes still intact.
- Bemidji State will need six points against the Mavericks, Lake Superior State to sweep Bowling Green and Michigan Tech earn four out of six points against St. Thomas to hold tie breakers and earn the fourth seed in the CCHA Playoffs.
- Bemidji State can finish anywhere from four to eighth in the CCHA standings heading into the final week of the regular season.
- The Beavers hit the road where they are 7-7-2 this season.
- Bemidji State and Minnesota State will put its winning streaks to the test with the Mavericks winning their last five games and BSU winning its last four.
- The Beavers' four-game winning streak is tied for the third longest active streak in DI Men's Hockey.
- Bemidji State has also won its last three road games dating back to Jan. 26 at St. Thomas.
- The Beavers are averaging 4.00 goals per game over their four-game win streak and have converted on 6-of-16 power plays (.375) during that span.
- BSU has scored a power-play goal in three of the last four games including a three power-play goal effort at Michigan Tech on Feb. 8.
- Bemidji State has scored a power-play goal in 18-of-32 games and are third in the CCHA, 12th in Division I, with a power-play percentage of .244 (21-86).
- The Beavers are coming off a series sweep of Bowling Green State to close out play at home.
- BSU earned a 3-2 victory in game one with senior captain Jackson Jutting scoring the game-winning goal 6:13 into the third period.
- The Beavers then earned a comeback victory in game two when Jutting scored the game-tying goal with 10.7 seconds left and junior Adam Flammang scored the game-winning goal 1:59 into overtime.
- Freshman defenseman Isa Parekh collected two assists in the series and was named the CCHA Defenseman of the Week earning his second career CCHA weekly honor.
- Head coach Tom Serratore earned career victory No. 400 in Friday's 3-2 win over the Falcons becoming the 41st head coach in DI Men's Hockey history to reach the milestone.
- He ranks 12th among active coaches in DI Men's Hockey with 401 career victories.
- Minnesota State is ranked 17th in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live top-20 national poll and 14th in the USCHO.com poll.
- The Mavericks are coming off a series sweep at Lake Superior State and earning the MacNaughton Cup as the league's regular season champions.
- The Bemidji State-Minnesota State rivalry dates back 1974 and the two teams have met for 149 games in the two teams histories with Friday night being the 150th clash.
- The all-time series has been split down the middle but Minnesota State holds a slight advantage with a 69-64-16 record.
- The home team has been favored in the series with BSU holding a 41-28-5 record at home against the Mavericks but just 22-40-11 on the road.

- Senior Mattias Sholl is 5-6-0 with two shutouts against the Mavericks and has a .922 save percentage and 2.30 goals against average.
- Head coach Tom Serratore is 24-46-5 in 24 seasons coaching against the Mavericks.
- Kirklan Irey lead the Beavers and is tied for seventh in the CCHA with a career-high 23 points (10g-13a).
- Eric Martin is close behind with 22 points off 10 goals and 12 assists. His 10 goals this season are a career-high and is the second consecutive season reaching the 20-point mark.
- Junior Reilly Funk has recorded six goals and 15 assists in his first season with the Beavers for third on the team after transferring from Northern Michigan.
- Jutting leads the Beavers with 11 goals a career best for the Colorado College transfer.
- Freshman Isa Parekh and Funk are tied for the team lead with 15 assists.
- Parekh is second among all CCHA freshmen with 18 points (3g-15a) and is tied for the fourth most points among all rookie defensemen across Division I.
- Parekh leads the team with a five-game point streak and has six assists over that span.
- Jutting and Funk each follow with four-game point streaks including Jutting who has scored in the last three games.
- Over the Beavers' four-game winning streak, Kasper Magnussen, Adam Flammang, Funk and Parekh each lead the team with five points while Magnussen, Jutting and Noah Quinn leading the team with three goals each.
- Fifth-year senior and captain Jackson Jutting leads the CCHA and is third in the nation with 744 faceoffs taken he has taken 83 more face-offs than second place Luke Mobley of Augustana.
- His 380 faceoffs won is ninth-most in the nation and he boasts a 51.1 percent win rate.
- Magnussen leads the Beavers with six power-play goals which is tied for the second most in the CCHA.
- Bemidji State's penalty kill is seventh in the league with a penalty-kill percentage of .734 (58-of-79).
- BSU has been called for a CCHA low 91 penalties this season and their 79 opponent power plays leads the CCHA and is the seventh fewest in Division I.
- Senior defenseman Will Magnuson leads the CCHA with 70 blocked shots despite missing three games due to injury. He ranks fifth in the nation.
- Bemidji State is second in the CCHA with 428 blocked shots.
- Senior goaltender Mattias Sholl has started 31 of the team's 32 games between the pipes and has played in 94-percent of the team's minutes.
- Sholl is 12-14-4 on the season with a 2.83 goals against average and .894 save percentage.
- Sholl is climbing Bemidji State's goaltending record books and in the Beavers DI era, he is second in BSU's DI era with 50 career wins and second with 2,617 career saves.
- Fifth-year senior Eric Martin has 87 career points during his time with the Beavers. He is the 21st Beaver in their DI era to surpass 80 career points and his 60 career assist are tied for the 10th most in BSU's DI era.
- Martin has played in 160 career games for the Beavers surpassing Ross Armour (159) for third most in program history last weekend.
- Serratore is 401-375-103 in his 24 seasons as head coach of the Beavers and boasts a .516 career winning percentage.
- Jackson Jutting was voted the team's captain by his peers during the summer and will dawn the "C" while Martin, Austin Jouppi and Jere Vaisanen will each serve as alternates.
- A.J. Macauly and Reilly Funk join the Beavers with past collegiate experience after Macauly played two seasons at Alaska-Fairbanks and Funk played three seasons at Northern Michigan.
- The Beavers boast their experience this season and have three graduates, five seniors, and seven juniors on the squad.
- The Beavers were picked to finish second in the CCHA Preseason Coaches' Poll while senior goaltender Mattias Sholl was the unanimous CCHA Preseason Goaltender of the Year.
- Serratore is in his 24th season at the helm of the Bemidji State Men's Hockey program. He is 401-375-103 (.516) in his coaching career.
- Since taking over the Bemidji State Men's Hockey program in 2001, Serratore's teams have achieved eight regular-season conference championships, three CHA tournament titles, five NCAA Tournament appearances, one NCAA Frozen Four appearance (2009) and he is an eight-time conference Coach of the Year including most recently in 2024.
- The 2024-25 Beaver roster consists of 27 student-athletes with three graduates, five seniors, seven juniors, five sophomores and seven freshmen.
- The team consists of 8 Minnesotans, 24 from North America including nine Canadians and three from Europe.
- By average, the Beavers are one of the smallest in Division I. They are tied for third in DI for the smallest by height averaging 5'11.6" and the smallest by weight averaging 178.9 pounds.Â
