BSU continues record-setting trend at MSU Open

Beavers rewrite records after MSU Open ends with PRs, NCAA ranks and a school record

MANKATO, Minn. – Bemidji State University Track and Field continued its trend from the first half of the outdoor season as they rewrote records, set personal bests and found NCAA ranks at Minnesota State University, Mankato Open.

Sophomore multi competitor Mille Rosaeg made a name for herself at the meet, taking the No. 76 time in NCAA DII during the women's 100-meter hurdle preliminaries, grabbing a finals qualifying spot at 14.80 seconds, her new personal best. Gabrielle Wilson also marked a PR in the same race at 19.46 seconds. Rosaeg then marked a PR in the 200-meter dash at 25.85 seconds and high jump at 1.52 meters, tying her teammate, Nataliee Hoffner. Also, in the 200-meter dash, Josie Aitken and Gabrielle Wilson PR'ed with times of 26.80 and 31.49, respectively. Maggie McCarthy's sixth-place finish in the 5K also moved her up in BSU's program record books, now holding fifth with a time of 18:48.51.

Big things came from the throwing side of the meet for the Beavers as junior Zayda Priebe marked the NCAA DII No. 15 discus throw distance of 47.40 meters, a personal best and new program record for Bemidji State. Also in discus, Elle Bettcher and Emma Green grabbed personal longs of 37.27 meters and 31.27 meters, respectively. Bettcher also grabbed a new PR in the javelin throw at 29.73 meters. Mikenna Pattrin and Trista Bilden went fourth and fifth in javelin, grabbing a combined nine points for BSU's overall total. Pattrin also competed in the shot-put competition and marked the NCAA DII No. 72 distance of 12.90 meters.
