BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Baseball team begins a seven-game homestand with a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader against University of Minnesota, Crookston Wednesday afternoon at the BSU Baseball Field.

The Beavers (4-27, 3-22 NSIC) face-off against their Highway 2 rival Golden Eagles (16-19, 13-12 NSIC) for a pair of conference games beginning Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The teams will play a scheduled seven-inning game to start the doubleheader followed by a full nine innings in game two.

The Beavers are 4-28 on the season and are 1-5 over their last six games. BSU is tied for 13
th in the conference standings holding a 3-22 NSIC record while the Golden Eagles are seventh with a 13-12 league record. The Beavers are nine games back of a spot in the NSIC Baseball Tournament with 15 league games remaining. Bemidji State has a favorable second-half portion of its schedule with four of its final six opponents are in the bottom half of the NSIC standings.

Sophomore
Matt Filippi leads the Beavers batting .305 at the plate and is slashing .469/.531/.528 over the last 10 games. He has collected 15 hits over his last 32 at bats to lead the team with a .469 batting average while also stealing 7-of-9 bases when he reaches.

Senior
Zach Evenson is batting .300 over the last 10 games and had nine hits in 30 at bats. He leads the team and is tied for fifth in the NSIC with a reached-base streak of 20 games. It is the eighth longest reached-base streak at BSU since 2007.

Junior
Adrian Falcon has been hot as of late as well and over the last seven games, he is batting .400 with 10 hits in 25 at bats and is slugging a team-high .760 with three home runs and six RBI.

On the season, Filippi leads all BSU batters hitting .305 with 29 hits in 95 at bats. He leads the team and is tied for sixth in the NSIC with 13 stolen bases. He is tied for fourth in program history for most stolen bases (13) in a single season and is just 11 shy of tying Mark Grundhoffer's record of 24 set in 1989. He has 22 career stolen bases which is tied for eighth in program history.

He is followed by sophomore
Beau Thoma who is batting .277 with 26 hits in 94 at bats and leads the team with eight doubles. Evenson paces the Beavers slugging .505 and is tied for eighth in the NSIC with seven home runs. He is five shy of tying the Beavers' single season record of 12 set by Joe Burgess in 1997.

On the mound Bemidji State is led by senior starter
Brandon Lind who has pitched a team-high 31.1 innings this season. He is 2-4 and pitched in two of the Beavers four wins this season. He has an ERA of 6.03 and is tied for 10
th in the NSIC with 41 strikeouts while only walking 12. He is averaging 11.97 K/9 which would best his previous program record set last season.

The Beavers' bullpen is led by freshman
Connor Donlin who has made eight relief appearances and come on to pitch 10.2 innings posting a 5.06 ERA. He is followed by fellow freshman
Matt Greiner who has made 11 appearances and has earned two saves to lead the team. Junior
Cole Smith leads the bullpen with 17 appearances and is 0-1 with a 8.15 ERA and is second on the team with 19 strikeouts.
