BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Football Head Coach
Brent Bolte announced the addition of the final piece of the Beaver coaching staff, Defensive Tackles Coach
Marcos Watkins.
Most recently, Watkins served as the Assistant Defensive Line Coach at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Penn. During his time at RMU, Watkins ran individual drills, created scouting reports, instructed the scout team offense and recruited through the transfer portal.
Prior to RMU, Watkins was the Defensive Line Coach at his alma mater, SUNY Buffalo State University, from April 2022 until March 2024. Here he coached one all-conference player in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Watkins got his start in coaching as a graduate assistant at the University of New Haven in Connecticut from August 2019 until December 2020. He then moved on to Geneva High School in Geneva, NY where he was the Assistant Varsity Line Coach and Head Modified Coach for one season.
A 2019 graduate of SUNY Buffalo State, Watkins holds a bachelor's degree in journalism with a minor in coaching. He also completed his master's of science in sport management with a concentration on collegiate athletic administration in 2020 through New Haven. Watkins was a two-year starter at offensive guard while in Buffalo.
