Brent Bolte announced the 2025 Beaver Football Leadership Team of
Isaac Hagstrom,
Zach Ott,
Tommy Lujan,
Sam Kanne,
Conor Kovas and
Drayton Lehman Sunday evening.
Hagstrom, a redshirt-senior from Annandale, Minn., is a two-time All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Second Team selection on the Beavers' offensive line, appearing in 30 games from 2022-2024. Alongside Hagstrom are fellow linemen
Zach Ott and
Conor Kovas. Ott became a starter on the Beavers' line as a freshman in 2021, appearing in eight games and starting in seven. Since then, Ott has marked 22 games played, 12 last season, earning a medical redshirt the previous year. In 2024, he was named to the All-NSIC Second Team and is a three-time Academic All-NSIC honoree. Kovas, from Joliet, Ill., has appeared in 39 games in his career as a Beaver. A D2CCA All-Super Region Four First Team selection, Kovas is a three-time Academic All-NSIC selection and a 2024 CSC Academic All-District selection.
Sam Kanne sat out the 2024 season after appearing in just one game, earning a medical redshirt. He has appeared in 23 games in his career, marking one reception for 21 yards. Kanne has been named to the Academic All-NSIC team each of the past three seasons. Rounding out the offensive lineup, wide receiver
Drayton Lehman has been named twice to the Academic All-NSIC team with one Team of Excellence honor and is a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree. Last season, Lehman appeared in all 14 games with 75 receptions and 607 receiving yards with four touchdowns. On the Beavers' punt return unit, Lehman marked 12 return attempts with 183 yards, grabbing a long of 60 yards against Angelo State University during the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Tommy Lujan is the lone member of the Beavers' "Gang Green" defense to be named to the Leadership Team. The redshirt-senior from San Antonio, Tex. transferred to BSU last year. In his first season with the Beavers, Lujan marked 13 games played with 25 total tackles, including 19 solo and one sack.
The Beavers begin competition with a trip to Houghton, Mich. on Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. CST, taking on Michigan Technological University. They'll host the University of Sioux Falls Cougars on Sep. 13 at 1 p.m. at Chet Anderson Stadium to kick off the home season.
