BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University graduate forward
Henry Shannon III was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division Player of the Week Monday afternoon.
Shannon started his weekend with a career-high 28 points and 20 rebounds in the Beavers' 85-55 loss to Southwest Minnesota State University, scoring just over half of the team's points. He shot .500 percent from the field and .727 from the free throw line with seven made free throws. Against SMSU, Shannon added a steal and a block. Under the rim, his career-best of 20 rebounds came from seven offensive boards and 13 defensive.
On Saturday, Shannon grabbed another 25 points and 16 rebounds in the 97-95 loss to the University of Sioux Falls Cougars. He shot .714 percent from the field and .833 from the free-throw line with five makes on six attempts. On the rebounding front, Shannon grabbed four offensive boards and 12 defensive.

th in blocks per game with 2.2, 15
th in field goals at 113, 25
th in minutes played per game, 28
th in rebounding, 10
th in defensive boards per game and 29
th in rebounds per game. He holds the top spot in the conference for blocks, blocks per game, minutes per game, defensive rebounds per game and rebounds per game, along with being top three in multiple categories.
The Beavers head back on the road for the first time in over a month this weekend with a trip to St. Cloud State University and Minnesota State University, Mankato. Tipoff in St. Cloud is set for 5:30 p.m. Friday followed by a 3:30 p.m. start in Mankato. Both games are available for streaming on the NSIC Network and Beaver Radio Network.
