Paige Smith spoke at the latest women's hockey media day to preview the Beavers' busy weekend as they host Minnesota State University, Mankato for a Western Collegiate Hockey Association series. The Beavers will host the Mavericks Friday, Jan. 30 at Sanford Center and take part in National Girls and Women in Sports Day as well as sponsor a Sophie's Squad Game to bring awareness to mental health in athletes. Bemidji State will then travel to Grand Rapids, Minn., to host the Mavericks Saturday at Yanmar Arena for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Face-Off Classic.
