Two from BSU Men’s Basketball named to All-NSIC teams

Pecarich lands on All-NSIC First Team with Shannon on All-NSIC Second Team

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Men's Basketball found two student athletes' names on this year's All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams. Junior guard John Pecarich earned First Team honors while graduate forward Henry Shannon III was named to the second team. 
 
John Pecarich skyrocketed to the top of the Beaver lineup in his junior campaign. Breaking numerous single-season and single-game records for the Beavers, Pecarich averaged 20.7 points per game, scoring a total of 558 this season and earning ninth all-time for single-season scoring. He set the program's record for single-game scoring on January 23, 2026 against Concordia University, St. Paul with 47 points. Additionally, Pecarich tied the single-game record for threes made in the same game with nine and a perfect free-throw percentage on 12 shots. 
 
Finishing his junior year, Pecarich is just 18 points away from reaching 1000 career points. In his career, he has posted a .449 field-goal shooting percentage, .406 three-point shooting and .873 free-throw shooting. Pecarich has started in 37 games with 76 appearances, starting every game this season. He has totaled 186 career rebounds with 31 on offense and 155 on defense. Pecarich has added 130 assists, 10 blocks and 55 steals. 
 
A two-time NSIC North Player of the Week selection, including one honor for his performance last weekend, Henry Shannon III was named to the All-NSIC Second Team. Shannon led the team in his final season both as a captain and statistically. He quickly became the team's leading field-goal shooter, finishing at .559 percent with 204 makes, rebounder with 243 grabs and moving into seventh all-time for single-season rebounding. Shannon was just two blocks shy of tying the program's single-season record, finishing with 61. 
 
Shannon finished his career with over 1,500 points scored between Iowa Wesleyan University, William Woods University and Bemidji State. At Bemidji State, Shannon finished with 488 points, averaging 18.1 per game. He shot .559 percent from the field and started in all 27 games for the Beavers. Shannon grabbed a total of 57 offensive boards and 186 defensive. He added 49 assists and 37 steals. 
 
This is the first time since 2023 that two Beavers were selected in the same year for All-Conference Honors, the last two being John Sutherland (first team) and Mohamed Kone (second team).
