SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Bemidji State University Men's Golf team shot 294 in the opening round of the 2026 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men's Golf Championship at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri. The Beavers sit tied for second after the first round while
Logan Schoepp and
Teagan LaPlante stand in the top five.

The Beavers are tied with Winona State University who also shot 294 while Concordia University-St. Paul holds the top spot with a 2-under par, 286.

Schoepp sits fourth among the 50 competitors after he finished the opening round with a 1-under 71. He was followed by LaPlante who is tied for fifth after shooting even-par 72.
Cullen Ryan shot 75 and is tied for 17
th with
Julius Arenkiel close behind with a 76 and
Charlie Williams rounded out the Beavers' five with a 77.

Concordia-St. Paul's Sean Leutner holds the tournament's individual lead with a 4-under par 68.

The second round of the NSIC Championship will begin on Saturday morning with tee-time starts at 9 a.m. The third and final round will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday. The top five golfers will be named NSIC All-Tournament, while the team champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional.Â
