SMITHVILLE, Mo. – Bemidji State University men's golfers
Teagan LaPlante and
Logan Schoepp each put themselves in top three positioning after the second round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Saturday afternoon. LaPlante fired a 1-under par 71 and is second with a 143 (72-71) while Schoepp sits third after firing 2-over par 74 Saturday for a score of 145 (71-74).

The pair led the Beavers in the second round as the team combined for a 304 and are fourth among the 10 teams competing with a two-round score of 598 (294-304). LaPlante is just three strokes behind of tournament leader Max Jericho of Winona State University who matched his score of 70 from yesterday today. Schoepp is just five strokes back of the leader aiming to move up and repeat as NSIC individual champion.

Winona State maintains its tournament lead shooting 291 on day two to lead the tournament by five strokes with a score of 585 (294-291). WSU holds a five stroke lead over Concordia-St. Paul, which shot a 286 in round one followed by a 304 in round two, to sit at 590, 14-over-par. Sioux Falls is third at 597, 21-over-par.

The third and final round of the NSIC Championship will begin Sunday morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The top five golfers will be named NSIC All-Tournament, while the team champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional.Â
