Beavers finish fourth at NSIC Championship

BSU Men’s Golf shoots best round of tournament on final day

SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Bemidji State University Men's Golf team shot its best round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship Sunday to finish fourth with a three-round score of 890 (294-304-292). Senior Logan Schoepp led the Beavers and tied for third shooting a 1-over par 217 (71-74-72).
 
Winona State University won its 16th NSIC Men's Golf Championship as the 54-hole championship concluded Sunday afternoon at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri. The Warriors used a tournament low round of 282 in the final round to pull away from the field and win by 20 strokes.
 
Schoepp finished in the top five at the NSIC Championship for the third time in his career with his second lowest score at the tournament of 217 (+1). He led the tournament finishing 3-under par on Par 4s and totaled 10 birdies.
 
He was followed by Teagan LaPlante who tied for sixth after shooting 2-over par 218 (72-71-75). He led the Beavers and tied for fourth overall with 11 birdies in the tournament.
 
Julius Arenkiel tied for 25th after shooting 229 (76-79-74) and tied for the most pars in the tournament. Cullen Ryan finished 38th shooting 237 (75-80-82). Charlie Williams shot 77-78 in the first two rounds of the tournament and was subbed by Brogan Pashal in the third round who shot 1-under par 71, the best round by a Beaver on the final day.
