TOPEKA, Kan. – Bemidji State University Men's Golf freshman Myles Jorde tied for 22nd individually to lead the Beavers to a ninth-place finish at the Washburn Invite held at the Topeka Country Club in Topeka, Kan.
 
The Beavers combined for a 54-hole team score of 890, posting rounds of 293, 297 and 300. Bemidji State finished just two strokes behind Minnesota State University, Mankato, which placed eighth at 888, and four strokes ahead of Newman in 10th.
 
Jorde paced the Beavers throughout the tournament and finished with a three-round score of 219 (+6). He opened with a 73, followed with a 74 in the second round and saved his best for last with a 72 in the final round to finish tied for 22nd.
 
Teagan LaPlante was next for the Beavers and tied for 31st at 222 (+9). LaPlante shot rounds of 73 and 74 before closing with a 75.
 
Valentin Ortiz finished tied for 48th after totaling 225 (+12) over 54 holes. Ortiz carded rounds of 74, 75 and 76.
 
Charlie Williams followed one stroke behind Ortiz and tied for 52nd at 226 (+13). Williams opened with a 75, matched the team's low score of the second round with a 74 and finished with a 77.
 
Rounding out the Bemidji State lineup was Jack Hagberg, who finished tied for 72nd at 231 (+18) following rounds of 73, 77 and 81.
 
Winona State captured the team championship with a three-round score of 855, seven strokes ahead of host Washburn at 862. Missouri Western finished third at 865. Winona State's Javier Ramos Casariego earned individual medalist honors after carding rounds of 69, 66 and 71 for a 206 total.
