BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Baseball team begins a six-game homestand this week and is set to begin the homestand by hosting University of Minnesota Crookston for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader at the BSU Baseball Field Wednesday, April 22.

The Beavers (8-28, 5-20 NSIC) battle the U.S. Highway 2 rival Golden Eagles (22-17, 15-12 NSIC) for a pair of games beginning at 1:30 p.m. Game one is slated for a seven-inning outing with game two going nine. Each game will be streamed exclusively online at

Bemidji State Notes
- Bemidji State returns home after a three-game series at University of Sioux Falls going 1-2 against the Cougars.
- BSU snapped a four-game losing streak with an 8-6 win in the series finale Sunday.
- The Beavers are 44-28 all-time against the Golden Eagles but have lost the last 21 meetings dating back to 2017.
- Bemidji State sits 15th in the NSIC standings with a 5-20 league record while the Golden Eagles are sixth at 15-11.
- The Beavers are having one of the best offensive seasons in program history. The Beavers have scored 217 runs to date and are averaging 6.03 runs per game, the fifth best average in history.
- The Beavers are batting .288 (308-1069) as a team which is the 13th highest batting average in the program and the highest since 2016.
- Three Beavers are batting over .300 on the season including junior Beau Thoma who leads the team with a .394 batting average.
- It is the highest batting average by a Beaver since Tyler Nelson batted a program record .434 in 2016 and is tied for the third highest overall.
- BSU has not had three Beavers bat over .300 since the 2017 season (minimum 100 AB).
- Thoma is third in the NSIC in batting average and is eighth in slugging percentage (.644), sixth in hits (52) and eighth in doubles (13).
- Thoma, Nash Rubins and Jack Feldman are each hitting over .350 marking the first time since 2014 that three Beavers hit over .350 in a season.
- Senior Noah Drusch's 10 home runs are tied for the third most in a season at BSU and he is two shy of tying Joe Burgess' mark of 12 set in 1997.
- Freshman Nash Rubins batting average of .361 is the highest batting average by a Beaver freshman since archives were kept in 1982.
- He has stolen 17 bases to lead the team and is tied for fifth in the conference. His 17 steals are third most in a single season at BSU and is seven shy of Mark Grundhoffer's record of 24 in 1989.
- The Beavers have stolen 71 bases on the season, second most in program history and 11 back of the program record set in 1989 (82).
- Bemidji State is having one the best fielding seasons in program history posting the third highest fielding percentage as a team at .961 with just 42 errors on 773 chances.
- Bemidji State reached eight wins on the season on Sunday, the most under head coach Matt Ellinghuysen and most for the program since 2021 (8).
