SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Bemidji State University volleyball team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Superior Tuesday night in three games (30-18, 30-19, 30-22) to kick off a six-match road swing. The Beavers posted a season-high hitting percentage of .508 (46k-15e-61att), while senior middle hitter Heather Haugen (Lanesboro, Minn.), fresh off her first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week award, led the team with 13 kills.

Five BSU players collected at lead seven digs as senior outside hitter Kristine Engman (Virginia, Minn.) paced the team with a season-high 14.

The Beavers (6-8; 2-2 NSIC) get back into league play this weekend as they hit the road to battle Southwest Minnesota State University and Wayne State College. Friday the team will take the court at 7:00 p.m. in Marshall, Minn. to face the Mustangs of SMSU with a 3:00 p.m. matinee to follow versus Wayne State Saturday.
