ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team lost to the Concordia University Golden Bears 110-76 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game at the Gangelhoff Center Friday. The Beavers have now lost five straight overall and their last three in conference play.

"Concordia went on a run and never looked back," said head coach Matt Bowen. "The game got out of control quickly and we couldn't recover. Concordia had an amazing display of offense and we just couldn't match it."

The Beavers (5-8, 2-5 NSIC) held a two point lead at 7-5 1:37 into the contest on a balanced scoring attack. CU then grabbed a lead with a 3-pointer at 17:28. BSU then went cold over the next four minutes, scoring just four points and getting down 20-11. The Golden Bears continued to run for the rest of the half and held a commanding 25 point lead at 53-28 lheading into the locker room. The second half was a closer affair as BSU lost the second frame by only nine 57-48, but still lost the contest by 34. It was a rough night for BSU on both ends of the floor with poor shooting and 20 turnovers, which is uncharacteristic for a Beaver team that entered the contest 51st in the nation in turnovers per game at a 13.6 clip.

BSU shot 39.4 percent from the field, while CU posted a monster 57.7 percent from the field. The Golden Bears also shot 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. Senior Seth Haake (G, Eden Prairie, Minn.) led the squad in points with 19, while adding seven rebounds. Sophomore Jake Lindstrom (G, Cottage Grove, Minn.) scored 12 and freshman Noah Shepherd (G, Minneapolis, Minn.) had a career-high 11 points.

BSU completes the NSIC road trip at St. Cloud State Jan. 9 at 6 p.m.
