Rosén voted to Preseason All-CCHA Team as Beavers voted to finish fourth

Men’s Hockey voted to finish fourth in CCHA Preseason Coaches’ Poll

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University men's hockey senior defenseman Elias Rosén was selected to the Preseason All-Central Collegiate Hockey Association Team while the Beavers were voted to finish fourth in the league's preseason poll announced Monday morning.
 
Bemidji State earned 51 points in the poll to finish seven points behind Bowling Green State University while Minnesota State University, Mankato was picked as the leagues' top team with 69 points and six first-place votes. Northern Michigan University received two first-place votes and finished second with 61 points.

Rosén, an alternate captain for the 2022-23 season, returns for his junior season after leading BSU defensemen with 26 points (7g-19a) in 38 games last season. He was named to the All-CCHA First Team for the second consecutive season last year and led all league defensemen with 20 points in 25 league games. Rosén is also a two-time Scholar-Athlete and All-Academic Team selection.
 
Joining Rosén on the team was Minnesota State's Brendan Furry and Jake Livingstone, Northern Michigan's AJ Vanderbeck, Lake Superior State's Louis Bourdon and Jacob Bengsston and Michigan Tech's Blake Pietila. Furry was voted the Preseason Player of the Year while Joey Larson from Northern Michigan was voted the Preseason Rookie of the Year.
 
Bemidji State officially begins its 2022-23 campaign Oct. 7-8 by hosting Arizona State University at Sanford Center.
 
Nestled in Northern Minnesota's wooden region and located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, BSU sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men's hockey in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and women's hockey in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
