Goodwin named NSIC Athlete of the Week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Senior Mary Goodwin not only set a new program record in the 5,000 meters this past weekend, but she was also named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Athlete of the Week.

Goodwin broke her own program record by over 14 seconds when she posted a time of 18:37.7 to lead the Beavers at the 48th Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational. Goodwin placed 39th overall in a loaded field that featured 23 teams. This was the second time already this fall in which Goodwin broke the program record in the 5k opening the season at the Augustana Twilight with the new record. In between breaking the 5,000 again in Oregon, Goodwin added to her program record in the 4,000 at the Dragon Twilight.
