JOPLIN, Mo. – Bemidji State University Cross Country finished 26
th in the 2025 NCAA Division II Central Regional Saturday in Joplin, Mo.
Maggie McCarthy led the team with a finish in 38
th, the program's best finish all-time.
The Beavers hit the 3,000-meter mark in three groups, led by
Maggie McCarthy in 65
th at 11:08.5.
Nadia Vaughn and
Sophie Rylance hit the halfway point a tenth of a second apart, Vaughn in 148
th at 11:49.80 and Rylance in 149
th just behind her.
Callie Ressler brought in the final two runners, sitting in 211
th at 12:57.60 and
Aspen Rohde rounded out the first half in 217
th at 13:13.30.
At the finish,
Maggie McCarthy made program history, taking a program-best 38
th and setting her personal best time of 22:10.01. McCarthy also set the program's 6,000-meter record, an accolade she set last fall in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships.
Nadia Vaughn followed with a time of 24:11.48, taking 154
th. Not far behind,
Sophie Rylance finished in 157
th at 24:14.10, around 20 seconds shy of her best. Senior
Callie Ressler moved up in the second half of the race, finishing in 208
th with a time of 26:26.70, setting her own PR in her final race. Finishing the Beavers' lineup was
Aspen Rohde who dropped back to 227
th with a time of 27:30.21, beating her previous PR time by 26.4 seconds.
