GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Another week meant more records to be broken for the Bemidji State University Women's Track and Field team. Mary Goodwin continued to break her own record in the mile, while Lexi Erickson set a new time in the 800-meter. Tierra Doss reached a provisional distance in the shot put all during a busy Saturday for the Beavers at the UND Tune-Up.
Goodwin has spent the indoor season continuing to add to her own record in the mile. That was no different this Saturday. Goodwin pushed across with a time of 5:05.74 for a new program record and placed third overall. It's the third time that Goodwin has set a new time in the mile. Goodwin's new time puts her into the top-15 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Erickson kept the records going in the 800-meter when she crossed with a new program record time of 2:16.17 to come in runner-up. Erickson's new time just beats out Ryne Prigge's previous-best time of 2:16.77 that also occurred at the UND Tune-Up. Erickson ranks in the top-10 in the NSIC.
Doss had been right around the provisional mark in the shot put in two previous meets but was able to hit the distance this time when her throw went to 44-08.75 to place fourth overall. Doss' new season-best mark ranks sixth in the NSIC.
Alaina Hall qualified in the 60-meter with a time of 7.82 and improved that time to win in the finals crossing at 7.76. Olivia Olson also qualified in the event with a time of 8.14. In the final, she improved her time as well coming in at 8.09 to place sixth. Abbie Disbrow also competed in the 60-meter posting a time of 8.51 in the prelims.
It was a new season-best time for Hall in the 200-meter coming in with a time of 26.02 to finish runner-up.
Josie Aitken was just off her season-best time in the 400-meter when she finished runner-up with a time of 1:01.52.
Abby Syverson won the 600-meter and in the process set a new personal-best time of 1:39.08.
In addition to Erickson in the 800-meter, Maggie McCarthy also competed in the event posting a new PR time of 2:26.66 to finish seventh.
In addition to Goodwin in the mile, the Beavers had three other runners compete in the event. Miller wasn't far off her PR time when she crossed at 5:32.70 to place sixth. Nadia Vaughn was the next one across for Bemidji State coming in seventh with a time of 5:42.71. Callie Ressler added a new personal-best time of 5:49.14 to come in eighth.
Natalie Fultz led the Beavers in the high jump when she cleared 5-01.75 to place third. Erickson also competed in the event hitting a height of 4-11.75 to come in fourth.
Hall continued her busy day also competing in the long jump leading three Beavers in the event when she hit a distance of 16-09.25 to come in ninth. Fultz reached a mark of 16-05.00 to come in 10th, while Disbrow reached a distance of 15-03.50 to come in 12th.
Megan Judge led the Beavers in the pole vault clearing 11-00.25 to place fourth. Olson also competed in the event clearing 10-06.25 to come in seventh.
In addition to Doss competing in the shot put, the Beavers had four other entries. Zayde Priebe hit a new PR with a distance of 38-03.50 to come in 12th. Mikenna Pattrin hit a mark of 36-00.00 to place 13th. Alexis Gehrig placed 19th with a throw of 20-06.75, while Cassidy Schmidt hit a distance of 29-04.50 to come in 20th.
Disbrow hit a new PR in the triple jump with a distance of 33-09.50 to place fourth.
Pattrin paced the Beavers in the weight throw when she reached a distance of 52-06.50 to place seventh. Doss wasn't far behind hitting a mark of 49-04.25 to place 10th. Gehrig placed 13th when she reached a throw of 41-00.50. Priebe was right behind in 14th with a throw of 38-07.00. Schmidt rounded out the competitors for the Beavers with a throw of 30-05.00 to place 15th.
Fultz also ran in the 60-meter hurdles posting a time of 9.99 during the prelims.
With the final tune-up now complete, Bemidji State will prepare for the NSIC Championships that will take place this coming Friday and Saturday (Feb. 24-25) in Mankato at the Myers Field House.
