Women’s Basketball signs four during early signing period

Bemidji State adds two forwards and two guards including Bemidji area local

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Basketball Head Coach Chelsea Stoltenberg announced the signing of four student athletes during early signing period. The signing class includes three Minnesotans and a Wisconsinite.
 
"We are thrilled for these four women to join our family," says Head Coach Chelsea Stoltenberg. "Individually, each of them brings talents on the court that fit immediate needs for us. They are high character athletes, from great families. We got better in so many ways with this class."
 
Gabby Fineday | G | Cass Lake, Minn. | Cass Lake-Bena HS
Just down the road from Bemidji, right-handed guard Gabby Fineday comes from Cass Lake, Minn. Fineday is a two-time Minnesota State High School Girl's Basketball Tournament competitor, 2021 and 2022, and six-time basketball letterwinner. She has also played in the Under Armour UAA Circuit and has appeared in the circuit's Final Four in Louisville, Ken. in 2023. Alongside her basketball accolades, Fineday is a four-time letter winner in volleyball and has lettered in track and field once at Cass Lake-Bena High School. She has two older sisters and a brother that have played collegiate sports as well, sisters Kailee and Ciara went to Haskell Indian Nations University and Leech Lake Tribal College, respectively, while brother Gordon is currently at Baker University.
 
Ava Olson | F | Owatonna, Minn. | Owatonna HS
Ava Olson signs with the Beavers as a six-foot-two-inch forward from Owatonna High School. She is a three-time letter winner for the Huskies, two-time All-Area Team selection and two-time All-Big Nine Conference honorable mention. Olson lists winning the AAU State Tournament in 2022 and twice defeating rival Mankato East High School at home. She plans to major in elementary education at Bemidji State and enjoys shopping, basketball and being with her friends. 
 
MaCee Linow | G | Alexandria, Minn. | Alexandria Area HS
MaCee Linow joins the Beavers after an impressive 2023-24 junior season. A member of the 2024 Minnesota State High School Girl's Basketball All-Tournament team and two-time All-Central Lakes Conference selection, Linow is also a four-time letter winner for Alexandria Area High School. She is also a National Honor Society member and consistent name on the honor roll. In her free time, Linow enjoys playing basketball and soccer, working out, spending time at the lake and being with her friends and family.
 
Lindsey Weiler | F | Stevens Point, Wis. | Stevens Point Area Senior HS
A four-time letter winner for Stevens Point Area Senior High School, Lindsey Weiler is a six-foot-one-inch, right-handed power forward. As a member of the SPASHS Panthers, Weiler became a two-time Wisconsin Valley Conference Champion. She credits her belief in the BSU Women's Basketball program and coaches for her choice of joining Bemidji State. She enjoys spending her free time outside, listing fishing as one of her top hobbies.
 
The Beavers kick off their season against Michigan Technological University today at 3 p.m. CST. They'll then head to Marquette, Mich. to take on the Northern Michigan University Wildcats Saturday at 2 p.m. CST. Games are available on FloCollege, a subscription based streaming service.
