BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University senior goaltender Mattias Sholl was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Goaltender of the Week after helping the Beavers split their home-and-home series with No. 3 University of Minnesota this past weekend.
 
Sholl helped the Beavers to their first win over the Gophers for the first time since 2016 by stopping a total of 72 shots on the weekend for a .935 save percentage. He came 2:12 away from recording the Beavers' first-ever shutout of the Gophers Saturday night in the Beavers' 3-1 victory in a game where he made 38 saves. While short-handed, Sholl led the Beavers penalty kill to a 4-for-5 showing against the Gophers' high-powered power play and stopped 10-of-11 shots while short-handed.
 
This is the first weekly nod for Sholl during his senior season but the sixth in his career. He was joined by St. Thomas' Cooper Gay (Forward), Bowling Green's Breck McKinley (Defenseman) and Northern Michigan's Will Diamond (Rookie) as Players of the Week for the CCHA.
