BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Track and Field travels the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University Thursday and Friday for the CSB/SJU Easter Track Meet. The two-day event is set to begin at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Josie Aitken and
Makenna Frazier went 10
th and 11
th in the 100-meter dash, with Aitken marking a personal best time of 13.353 seconds and Frazier just behind at 13.356. Aitken broke into the top five in the 200-meter dash at 27.47, while
Gabrielle Wilson grabbed a personal best time of 31.23 seconds. The lone Beaver in the 800-meter run,
Sophie Rylance finished second with a PR of 2:20.52. Continuing the personal-best-setting trend,
Maggie McCarthy found a PR and the win in the women's 1,500-meter run at 4:55.21 while
Sydnie Price also PR'ed at 5:36.38.
Mille Rosaeg represented the Beavers in the women's heptathlon, finishing third with 4,079 points. Rosaeg grabbed an NCAA ranking, No. 100, with her first-place, 14.89-second performance in the 100-meter hurdles. Also winning the 200-meter dash, Rosaeg grabbed 775 points with a time of 26.26 seconds. She did not find as much luck in the 800-meter run, finishing fifth with a time of 3:04.09. Rosaeg found herself in the middle of the pack for the field events, taking second in high jump at 1.46 meters, fourth in javelin with a personal best of 26.68 meters, third in long jump with a distance of 5.21 meters and second in shot put with a distance of 9.73 meters.
Taking back-to-back event wins with personal bests and NCAA ranked throws,
Zayda Priebe grabbed first in the discus throw at 47.24 meters. This throw landed in the No. 21 spot for NCAA DII throws and increased her personal best from last week.
Zoe Lennon also PR'ed in the event with a 32.58-meter throw. Though the Beavers weren't able to crack the top ten for hammer throw, three of the four increased their personal records as
Emma Green (37.45m),
Elle Bettcher (35.38m) and
Zoe Lennon (32.28m) all increased their bests.
Trista Bilden gave the Beavers their third event win of the meet in the javelin throw, marking a distance of 36.50 meters for a personal best along with the win.
Maya Wagner and
Zoe Lennon also PR'ed in the event. At the pole vault,
Olivia Olson and
Chloe Knott both reached the top five with Olson in third and Knott in fifth. Knott's height of 2.95 meters marked a personal best for the freshman. Finally,
Trista Bilden found herself in the top three once again, this time taking second in shot put at 12.08 meters.
Next week, the Beavers are scheduled to compete in the Drake Relays, Bison Open and Viking Classic. They'll then go to Moorhead, Minn. for the Cobber Open before closing out the regular season at the NSIC Championship in Duluth, Minn. May 8-10.
