Richardson joins Beaver Softball as Assistant Coach

Beavers add former NSIC opponent to coaching roster for 2025-26

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Softball Head Coach Jordan Petersen has announced the hiring of Liv Richardson as her assistant coach for the 2025-26 season.

"Her demonstrated excellence in player development and strategic game management, coupled with her passionate commitment to fostering talent at every level, makes her an exceptional asset. We're confident that Liv's insights and energy will significantly strengthen our program as we strive for competitive excellence."

Prior to joining the Beavers, Richardson spent the past year as the head coach for the 8U Nebraska Thunder team, teaching the basics of the game an implementing a strong team culture to foster athlete growth. She is also an assistant coach for the 17U national team for the Thunder, focusing on hitting and fielding. 

Richardson served as the Head Reserve Softball Coach for Papillion La Vista South High School in Papillion, Neb. during the fall of 2024. There, she gave player evaluations, managed practice planning, coordinated team travel and led gameday operations. 

A 2024 graduate of Northern State University, Richardson was a member of the Wolves softball program for four years. During her time at NSU, Liv marked a .339 batting average in 134 games played with 131 starts. She took 407 at bats and grabbed 60 runs off 138 hits with 29 doubles, three triples and 15 home runs with 75 RBIs. She finished her infielder career with a .902 fielding percentage after allowing just one error during her senior season.
