Beavers Place Fourth at Battle in the North After Strong Final Round

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Golf team climbed one spot on the final day of competition to finish fourth at the Battle in the North, hosted by Minot State University October 5-6 at Beowulf Country Club.
 
The Beavers posted a tournament score of 704 (370-334), shaving 36 strokes off their opening-round total to record one of the biggest improvements in the field. Bemidji State finished behind tournament champion University of Jamestown (647), Minot State (689) and University of Mary (691), while placing ahead of Minnesota State University, Moorhead.
 
Bemidji State was led by Sara Sroga, who surged 10 spots up the leaderboard during the final round. After opening with a 90, Sroga carded an impressive 81 on day two to finish sixth overall with a two-round total of 171.
 
Haylee Kammann also made a strong move on the final day, improving 11 positions after shooting a tournament-best 79 in the second round. Kammann finished seventh overall at 172 (93-79), giving the Beavers two golfers inside the top seven.
 
Bailey Tilley placed 12th in the individual standings with a score of 179 (94-85). Tilley jumped 10 spots during the final round and helped fuel the team's dramatic improvement.
 
Lauren Kammann finished 20th overall at 190 (101-89), trimming 12 strokes from her first-round total, while Eleanor Carlson placed 22nd at 192 (93-99).
 
The Beavers' second-round score of 334 was the third-lowest round posted by any team in the tournament and helped BSU climb into fourth place to conclude its fall schedule.
