Is one of nine players that has appeared in all 26 of BSU's games in 2020-21. Has accounted for five points (1g-4a). Posted his first collegiate goal in a 4-1 victory at Lake Superior State Jan. 2. He assembled a sting of four games from Jan. 21 to Feb. 5 where he contributed three assists. Earned WCHA Defender of the Week recognition Jan. 26 after netting a goal in each game of BSU's series sweep of then-No. 5 Bowling Green. BSU is unbeaten when he contributes a point (4-0-1). Is second on the team with a +10 plus/minus rating. Has been a part of a penalty-kill unit that leads the nation with a BSU-record .932 kill percentage (68-of-73) and has allowed just five power-play goals on the season. He has logged five penalties for 10 minutes in the box. Has 22 blocked shots to sit third on the team.

Looft made his collegiate debut in the second game of the year versus St. Cloud State (10/12/19) and recorded a season-high four shots. Looft earned his first points of the season on a pair of assists, which included a helper on the game-winner, versus Lake Superior State (11/8/19) to propel the Beavers to a 7-1 victory. He was selected as the WCHA Defenseman of the Week for his role in the Beavers' victory and series sweep. He completed his freshman campaign with four points (4a) in 33 games. His 24 blocks placed him sixth on the team and fourth among blueliners. Looft recorded a season-high three blocks against Lake Superior State (11/29/19). Looft's +13 plus/minus rating ranked third on the team and second among defenders.

Prior To BSU
Looft played for two seasons in the USHL and wore an “A” for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders during the 2018-19 season. During his final season, he recorded 17 points (2g-15a) in 47 games to rank second to only current teammate Will ZmolekHear how to pronounce Will Zmolek among Cedar Rapids defensemen. That comes on the heels of a 12-point 2017-18 season playing in 58 games for the RoughRiders.

Personal
Born Jun. 27, 1998 to Brian Looft and Sara Junker... Is an environmental studies major and geographical information systems minor... Prior to embarking on his USHL career, Looft was a standout at Mankato West High School. In four seasons and 99 games for the Scarlet, Looft amassed 116 points, which included 41 goals and 75 assists. He helped lead his team into postseason play in all four seasons and was named alternate captain as a senior. Following his prep career he had a short stint with the Austin Bruins of the NAHL, where he scored seven points (2g-5a) in 12 games.
