Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. - [box score] Just one day after securing its first win of the 2006 campaign by way of a 9-0 sweep, the Bemidji State University tennis team found itself on the other end of a blanking Sunday as St. Cloud State University handed the Beavers a 9-0 loss at the Gillett Fitness/Recreation Center.

The Beavers failed to gain a single set on the day as Jenna Jespersen came the closest to pushing her match into a third set. She came back from a 6-2 loss to SCSU's Katie Casper in the first set at No. 5 singles to force Casper into an extra game before bowing out 7-5.

In doubles action, BSU's No. 2 and No. 3 teams of Kristen Lexcen/Julie Kapsner and Amy Erickson/Jespersen each were shut out in their matches (8-0) while Melissa Fogelson and Kali Welu teamed up at No. 1 singles to gain two games before falling to Sylvester and Lindsey Johnson 8-2.

The sweep marks the fourth time this season the Beavers have been held without a single team point as they drop to 1-8 overall. The Huskies improved to 9-2 on the season with the victory.

The Beavers will be back on the road this weekend as they travel to Marshall, Minn. to battle Southwest Minnesota State University in their final regular season Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference competition of the year. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start.
