BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Tennis head coach
Kyle Fodness was announced Tuesday morning as the 2026 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year after leading the Beavers to the postseason for the first time since 2021.
In his seventh season as head coach of the program, Fodness helped guide the Beavers to a 10-8 record, the most wins under his leadership and tied for the fourth-most wins in program history. He coached the Beavers to a 4-6 record in conference play and earned the sixth-seed in the NSIC Tournament reaching the postseason for the first time since 2021. He helped the Beavers get off to their best start in program history starting the season with a six-match winning streak.
Fodness is the first Beaver NSIC Coach of the Year since 1999 (Reva Howe) and the third coach in program history to earn the achievement.
In seven seasons, Fodness has compiled a 40-64 record and 21-50 in NSIC play. He has coached three All-NSIC selections, one NSIC Outstanding Senior Award winner and 20 NSIC All-Academic Team members.
