Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State University
tennis team was unable to snap its three game losing streak as it was
defeated by the University of North Dakota 9-0 at the Center Court
Fitness Center in Grand Forks, N.D.
The Beavers Shelia Hoberg (So., Bismarck, N.D.) and Julie Kapsner
(Jr., Pierz, Minn.) teamed up for the first time this season at No. 2
doubles but saw themselves fall to the team of Emma Hustad and Lindsey
Whiting 8-3. The Sioux would take all three doubles points to get out
to the early 3-0 lead.
Farrah Steinke
(Fr., Crosby, Minn.) was a bright spot on the day for the Beavers as
she took opponent Christa Hall through a marathon match at No. 5
singles. The first set went Halls way as she edged Steinke 7-5. Steinke
would then battle back to claim the second set 6-4. The third set went
back and forth but Hall was able to slip away with the set winning it
7-6 to capture the point.
With the victory the
Sioux claimed the season sweep of the Beavers as they defeated them
back on February 2 9-0 at the Gillett Recreation and Fitness Center.
The loss drops Bemidji State to (3-9; 0-2 NSIC) while North Dakota climbs to 9-3.
The
Beavers return to action March 28 as they travel to Duluth, Minn. to
take on the College of St. Scholastica at 7 p.m. The next day they are
scheduled to battle against the University of Minnesota Duluth at 8 a.m.

institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference
