BSU falls to Northern State 6-3

ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Bemidji State University tennis team fell 6-3 to Northern State University on Saturday morning in Aberdeen, S.D. The Beavers fall to 3-10 (2-6 NSIC). The Wolves improve to 6-8 (3-6 NSIC). BSU will continue with action in Aberdeen with two more NSIC contests this weekend as they face Winona State University at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and Minnesota State University at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

BSU's three points on the day came from matches defaulted by the Wolves because they didn't have enough players available. Northern State won all other singles and doubles matches played.

At No.1 doubles, Kaitlyn Wright and Megan Gilbraith of NSU upended Kelli Christiansen (Jr., Bemidji, Minn.) and Kara Johnson (Sr., Anoka, Minn.) for BSU 8-3. Christiansen and Johnson fall to 2-11 in doubles.

At the No. 2 doubles slot, Miranda Milless (Jr., Motley, Minn.) and Meg Hafdahl (So., Virginia, Minn.) fell 8-0 to Jamie Golden and Bridget Henderson. Milless and Hafdahl are 4-6 in doubles this season.

At the No. 1 singles spot, Johnson was upended by Wright 6-0, 6-2. Johnson is 1-12 in singles on the season.

In No. 2 singles action, Greenwaldt fell at the hands of Golden 6-0, 6-2. Greenwaldt holds a 4-9 mark in singles.

At No. 3 singles, Christiansen fell to Henderson, 6-0, 6-0 Christiansen is 4-9 in singles on the season.

At the No. 4 slot, Milless lost to Gilbraith, 6-0, 6-0. Milless has a 1-11 mark this season in singles.
