BEMIDJI, Minn. (Gillett Recreation-Fitness Center) -- Augustana College, the NCAA Central Region’s top-ranked team, backed up its top billing by rolling over the Bemidji State University 9-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action Saturday at BSU’s Gillett Recreation-Fitness Center.

Augustana jumped out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles matches, which included an 8-0 victory by Kathrynn Jesperson and Michelle Wadas over Britney Greenwaldt (Sr., Morris, Minn.) and Kelli Christiansen (Sr., Bemidji, Minn.) in the No. 1 sot.

The Vikings then complete the 9-0 victory earning straight-set wins in all six singles matches.

The loss to the Vikings stands as the Beavers’ first of the 2012 NSIC season (1-1) as the Beavers dip to 1-4 overall.

Bemidji State completes its weekend homestand with a NSIC match up versus University of Minnesota Duluth tomorrow.  The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m. and will be played at Gillett Recreation-Fitness Center.
