Klein scores points for BSU on first day of NSIC Indoor Championships

MANKATO, Minn. (Myers Field House) -- Junior pole vaulter Anastasia Klein secured the first points for Bemidji State University indoor track & field Friday during the opening day of the 2022 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in Mankato, Minn.

Klein finished tied for eighth in the pole vault with a mark of 10-feet-08.25-inches to earn a three-way split of one point.

Senior mid-distance runner Maryse Mbenoun qualified for the finals in the 600-meter run with a fourth-place finish of 1:37.90. She entered the meet as the reigning NSIC title holder in the event with a BSU record of 1:35.37.

Three Beavers earned personal records during the first day of the championships, including sophomore Alaina Hall in the 200m dash (26.09), freshman Dynia Lewis in the 60m hurdles (9.27) and freshman Olivia Olson in the pole vault (9-08.50).

Through the opening day of the conference championships, Bemidji State is tied for 13th with a score of 0.33.

Bemidji State continues the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday with the pentathlon at 9 a.m.
