Track & Field takes six event wins, 26 top five finishes at Dewey Donat Classic

ABERDEEN, S.D. (Swisher Activities Complex) -- Bemidji State University track & field earned six event wins Saturday at a windy Dewey Donat Classic hosted by Northern State University. The Beavers totaled 26 top-five finishes and saw three top 10 program marks set.

Sophomore Alaina Hall took first in the 100-meter dash with a personal record time of 11.98, which ranks third all-time in BSU outdoor history. Hall was also part of BSU's 4x100m relay team, including Janice Cole, Beatrice Kjelland and Kendra Ekereke, that won the event with a time of 49.46.

Junior thrower Tierra Doss won the shot put with a throw of 42-feet-01.50-inches and took second in the discus with a mark of 141-01, which ranks fourth all-time at BSU.

Freshman Dynia Lewis took second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.75, setting a personal record and placing herself fifth all-time at BSU outdoors. Junior Anastasia Klein also set a BSU top 10 mark with a third-place leap of 10-10.75 in the pole vault, which ranks sixth all-time at BSU.

Freshman Makayla Lewis earned first in the 200m dash with a personal record time of 25.78 while six Beavers finished third through eighth in the event.

Also taking event wins were sophomore Mary Goodwin in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:38.19 and senior Analise Fabre in the triple jump with a leap of 36-00.25.

In total, Bemidji State finished with 19 personal records set. The Beavers are scheduled to compete April 28-30 at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa and the Ron Masanz Classic in Moorhead, Minn.
