Beavers post four times in the top 10 in program history in the 4k at Dragon Twilight

Goodwin breaks own program record

MOORHEAD, Minn. – It was a strong second meet of the season for the Bemidji State University Cross Country team as four student-athletes posted times inside the top 10 in program history in the 4,000-meter to highlight the Dragon Twilight. Senior Mary Goodwin once again broke her own program record in the 4k. As a team, Bemidji State placed fourth with 105 points.

Goodwin crossed with a time of 14:23.80 to lead the Beavers and come in fourth overall. That new time becomes the top time in program history in the 4k. Sophomore Maggie McCarthy came in 12th with a time of 15:10.00. McCarthy's new time ranks fourth in program history. Senior Carol Miller was the next one in for the Beavers placing 23rd with a time of 15:15.30. Miller's new time ranks fifth in program history. Sophomore Nadia Vaughn added the fourth new time inside the top 10 when she placed 34th with a time of 15:45.30. Vaughn's new time ranks ninth in program history. Freshman Hadley Stuehrenberg came in 47th with a time of 16:21.20. Freshman Carmen Lyon was the next one in for Bemidji State coming in 52nd with a time of 16:39.90. Freshman Emma Hochhalter was right behind in 53rd with a time of 16:41.30. Freshman Sydnie Price came in 60th with a time of 17:07.20, while sophomore Callie Ressler crossed in 62nd with a time of 17:10.30.

The Beavers finished in fourth out of 11 teams, with UMary coming in first with 17 points to win going away by 56 points over Minot State.

Bemidji State will now prepare for the 48th Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational which will be a 5,000-meter race. That will take place on Friday, September 29th in Salem, Ore.
