ST. PAUL, Minn. – Bemidji State University Cross Country finished the Roy Griak Invitational in 16
th Friday afternoon.
Senior
Maggie McCarthy led the Beavers as the only runner to crack the top 100, marking a time of 24:13.8 and taking 25
th. In her first collegiate 6,000-meter race,
Jazzlyn Hanenberger finished second on the team and 117
th overall at 26:16.9.
Nadia Vaughn and
Sophie Rylance stuck close together at 135
th and 140
th, respectively, taking times of 26:32.2 and 26:41.7. At 202
nd,
Ava Werner found a time of 27:55.7 and
Aspen Rohde marked a personal best at 224
th with a time of 29:11.1.
Callie Ressler rounded out the lineup at 30:50.0, taking 247
th.
The Beavers' 16
th place finish is down two spots from the last time the team competed in this race in 2022. They now look toward the Jimmie Invitational on October 3, hosted by the newest members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the University of Jamestown. The NSIC Championships are set for Oct. 24 at the Wayne Country Club in Wayne, Neb.
