Jamestown, N.D. – Bemidji State University Cross Country traveled to Jamestown, N.D. Friday where they took seventh in the Jimmie Invitational.
Maggie McCarthy found the top spot for the Beavers, taking 17
th amidst a mixture of Division I and II opponents. She was one of just three runners from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to crack the top 20. McCarthy's 22:50.6 finish marked a season best for the senior.
Sophie Rylance also found a spot in the top 50, taking 48
th at 24:18.9, also marking a season best.
Jazzlyn Hanenberger's 24:41.2 run grabbed her the 54
th spot and a personal best.
Ava Werner marked a season best with 25:45.7, taking 69
th. Continuing the season best trend,
Callie Ressler and
Sydnie Price took 77
th and 88
th with times of 26:41.5 and 29:02.8, respectively.
Makayla Waldron rounded out the Beavers' lineup with a finish in 90
th, marking a time of 29:35.6
This week's race prepares the team for the 6,000-meter Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships on Oct. 24 in Wayne, Neb. The race is slated for 12 p.m. at the Wayne Country Club. Tickets for the race and more information will be available on the BSU Beavers website in the coming week.
