BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Tennis team returns to Grand Forks, N.D., this Saturday and Sunday for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate matches. The Beavers face St. Cloud State University Saturday at 12:00 p.m., before closing the weekend against University of Minnesota Duluth Sunday at 9:45 a.m.

Bemidji State (0-1, 0-0 NSIC) started its season last weekend with a non-conference match in Grand Forks against University of Minnesota Crookston falling 1-6 in the match. In singles, freshman Ana Lucia Ibanez picked up the win at No.4 pulling out a three-set win for the Beavers.

Last season, the Huskies finished fifth in the conference with an 11-7 record and reached the NSIC tournament for the second consecutive season. The fifth-place finish was the highest mark since the team finished 3rd in 2016. The Huskies (0-1, 0-0 NSIC) fell in their season opener last weekend to Winona State University. St. Cloud State will take on Minnesota Crookston on Friday before facing the Beavers Saturday.

Sunday's match against the Bulldogs will be the 39th meeting between programs with the Bulldogs holding a 38-10 advantage. The Bulldogs currently (0-1, 0-0 NSIC) took a 0-9 loss against Bethel University last weekend and will face Minnesota Crookston Saturday before facing the Beavers on Sunday.
