BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Tennis freshman
Mia Leshem was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon announced by the league.

Leshem earns her first conference accolade and is the first BSU Women's Tennis student-athlete to be recognized as the league's player of the week since
Sophie Groen on Feb. 8, 2022.

In her first collegiate matches, Leshem went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles as the Beavers opened their 2025 season against Minnesota Crookston, St. Scholastica and Minnesota Duluth. She began the week defeating Daniela de Lucas Rivera of UMC 4-3 at No. 1 Singles and then defeated Katia Bartels of CSS (6-3, 6-2) and Charley Chaney of UMD (6-2, 6-0) at No. 2 singles.

Paired with Groen in doubles action, the duo went 2-1 defeating Luana da Silva and Isabelle Simon of UMD (6-1) and Julia Maier and Paula Sendele of CSS (6-3).

Leshem and the Beavers are back in action Feb. 22-23 as they begin NSIC play against Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.
