BEMIDJI, Minn. – The No. 1 doubles team of graduate
Sophie Groen and freshman
Mia Leshem of the Bemidji State University Women's Tennis team received All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference recognition announced by the league Tuesday morning.

The pair earned All-NSIC Second Team in doubles marking the first All-NSIC selection for the Beaver Tennis program since 2022 when Groen and Shaelyn Johnson earned All-NSIC First Team doubles honors.

Groen earns her fifth All-NSIC accolade after earning All-NSIC Second Team in singles twice and All-NSIC First Team in doubles twice while Leshem earns her first career All-NSIC selection.

Groen a native of Uitgeest, Netherlands and Leshem, a native of Randburg, South Africa, teamed-up to win 10-of-14 matches in the No. 1 doubles spot for the Beavers this season. The pair posted the seventh-best winning percentage (.714) among all doubles team in the conference and the third-best among No. 1 doubles teams. Groen and Leshem went 5-4 against conference opponents this season to tie for the fourth-best winning percentage (.556) among No. 1 double teams.
