BEMIDJI, Minn. – Three Bemidji State University men's golfers finished in the top five at the BSU Invitational Tuesday helping the Beavers win their host tournament by 20 strokes. All five scorers for the team finished in the top 10 leading to the commanding victory. BSU combined to fire a nine-under par 559 (277-282) to finish as the only team with an under-par score, the lowest two-round score for the Beavers since archives were available in 2008-09.

Senior
Logan Schoepp led the way finishing with an eight-under par 134 (64-70) and earned top medalist honor by six strokes. His round one score of 64 was a program record for the lowest round at BSU and consisted of 12 pars, five birdies, one eagle and was bogey free. He finished the tournament with a one-under par 70 for a career-low 134.
He was followed by Beavers
Julius Arenkiel and
Teagan LaPlante who each tied for second after bringing in scorecards of two-under par140. Junior
Teagan LaPlante shot a new career-low two round score after shooting 70 in each round, tying his career low. Freshman
Julius Arenkiel made an immediate impact in his first collegiate tournament shooting two-under par including a three-under par 68 on day two.
The three led the Beavers' competing five with sophomore
Riley McGovern (71-77=148) and junior
Charlie Williams (77-74=151) rounding out the Beavers five scorers.
Competing as individuals junior
Cullen Ryan was close behind and tied for sixth with an even par 142 (71-71), just one stroke shy of a career best. Sophomore
Brogan Paschal also finished in the top 10 with a one-over par 143 (75-68) including the second lowest round of the event on day two. Freshman Gavin Dahl shot 154 (77-77) in his first tournament as a Beaver, sophomore
Ryan Nelson carded 154 (75-79) as well. Senior
Caden Lick shot 155 (81-74) while sophomore
Ryan Schmit rounded out the Beavers with a 160 (77-83).
Bemidji State will next travel to Hudson, Wis., to compete in the MSU CSP Fall Brawl at the Troy Burne Golf Club Sept. 15-16.
