Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University tennis team earned the third sweep of the season versus Bethany Lutheran College this morning. The Beavers went 7-0 versus the Vikings during a neutral site matchup in Grand Forks, N.D.
BSU started the morning strong by sweeping doubles play, and by not dropping a single game, to earn the first point of the match.
Sophie Groen began the singles points roundup for BSU, defeating Shoshana Bruner in two six-game sets. Just after Groen, Shaelyn Johnson extended her undefeated streak by taking her match versus Emma Newton 6-2, 6-2. Lily Jones also swept her match while Bela Nelson and Taylor Offerdahl both marked wins dropping just one game each. Nico Anestiadi found her win in a battle with Olivia Pfeffer, ultimately taking the match 6-1, 6-2.
The Beavers now head to Sioux Falls, S.D. to take on University of Sioux Falls and Augustana University on Apr. 2 and 3. The Beavers and Cougars will play a late match at 7 p.m. Saturday followed by a 9 a.m. match versus the Vikings on Sunday.
